For her exhibition "Only Time" in the project space of Galerie Elisabeth & Klaus Thoman [tart vienna], Magdalena Kreinecker created new prints from an etched copper plate on handmade paper. The centuries-old technique of etching is updated by Kreinecker with digital means. She starts from a subject created on the iPad, which she etches onto the copper plate through several layers of screen printing that can be exposed digitally.
As an edition for the exhibition and the project space, Kreinecker chose to print the A4-format test plate. The tested five layers of screen printing can be seen in stages through the different degrees of darkness.
